About the Entrepreneurship Program

The Entrepreneurship Program at Lake Erie College equips students with essential skills to succeed in any industry. With small class sizes, students receive personalized attention from faculty, a level of support rarely found at larger schools. This guidance helps students determine the best pathway to success.

Lake Erie College also provides numerous opportunities to explore different career options, including membership in the Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (EEC) and participation in SPARK Talks, an entrepreneurial-focused event series.

Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (EEC)

As a member of the EEC, Lake Erie College students can participate in IdeaLabs, a program that provides funding for their startup ideas. Through this program, students not only receive financial support for their business ideas but also benefit from guidance from faculty and peers. This unique support system sets LEC students apart from others at similar colleges, where such personalized mentorship is often lacking. Additionally, LEC students have access to internships and accelerated learning opportunities funded by the EEC.

SPARK Talks

SPARK Talks is a student-run organization that invites local business leaders to campus to speak with entrepreneurship students. These leaders, often former students of Lake Erie College, share their experiences of starting and growing a business. These events provide valuable insights into the entrepreneurial world and offer excellent networking opportunities for students.

Career Opportunities with an Entrepreneurship Degree

An Entrepreneurship degree from Lake Erie College equips students with a broad skill set that is applicable across many industries. Key skills include:

  • Idea development

  • Business development

  • Venture and startup knowledge

  • Enterprise development

  • Leadership

Additionally, this degree can be paired with other programs at Lake Erie College to create a more tailored pathway. Students work with faculty and advisors to choose the best combinations for their goals and future careers.

Graduate Preparation

The Entrepreneurship Degree prepares students for leadership roles in business, emphasizing hands-on experience through collaborative projects, case studies, and internships.
