NEO Virtual Career Fair| Event
The NE Ohio Regional Virtual Interview & Exploration Day is free for students and alumni of all majors from participating higher education institutions in the Northeast Ohio region looking for internships, co-ops, or full-time jobs. Participants will have the chance to schedule 10-minute introductory interviews with employers and join 30-minute exploratory sessions to learn more about employers and their available opportunities. There will be nearly 200 employers including:
Amazon
Cleveland Cavaliers
City of Akron
Cleveland Clinic
Hall of Fame Resort and Entertainment
Mayo Clinic
Rocket Mortgage
Target
and many more local and national employers.
Registration and session scheduling is required in advance. Employers will continue to add new sessions up until the start of the event so be sure to check back for more sessions. Check out Handshake support guide for instructions on registering for a virtual Handshake fair and scheduling sessions!
*NOTE Before scheduling any sessions, check your computer settings to confirm your device is set to the correct time zone (Eastern Standard Time (EST)) and time. If unfamiliar with this, please reference the Student FAQ’s attached to this fair page.
Pre-Career Fair Preparation:
Please have an updated copy of your resume available to share with employers. We encourage you to have your resume reviewed by your institution’s career services office prior to the week of the fair and to make it public on your Handshake profile so employers can see it. Â
While the event is virtual, we still recommend wearing business dress, since you most likely will be on camera when speaking with employers. This includes wearing blouses or button-up shirts and ties in conservative colors or patterns. A business jacket, sweater, or vest may be worn.
Prep sessions for students from all participating schools will be held on Thursday, September 15, from 12 pm – 1 pm EST and Monday, September 20, from 4 pm – 5 pm EST. At these prep sessions you can review the Handshake Virtual Fair platform, including how to schedule your sessions, as well as general tips for attending a virtual fair. Your school may also be hosting individual prep sessions.
