SUPPORTERS TEE OFF AT 16TH ANNUAL LAKE ERIE COLLEGE GOLF OUTING

- PROCEEDS BENEFIT COLLEGE ATHLETIC PROGRAMS

(PAINESVILLE, OHIO) – Over seventy area businessmen, community members and friends met for the 16th annual Lake Erie College golf outing held at Kirkland Country Club on Monday, October 3. The shotgun startup began at 1 p.m. Proceeds from the event benefit Lake Erie College athletic programs.  
 
Many were honored as ‘winners’ at the event. Husband and wife, Trish and Jim Cooney, were individual female and male winners with scores of 84 and 75 respectively. Scramble winners were Mark Orenz, John Shiffer, Drew Sparacia and Kevin Smith representing Phillips-Osborne School. Runners-up for the scramble were the foursome of Mark Yonke, Ken Visky, Kevin Szatala and Chris Olesko. Other awardees included Tony Milam with the longest drive and Charlie Swift as closest to the pin. 
 
“We are grateful to the many players and corporate sponsors who helped to make this event so successful,” said Ken Krsolovic, director of athletics at Lake Erie College. “Intercollegiate sports play an important role in campus life at Lake Erie College, and money raised at this event will help to make our athletic programs even more competitive.”
 
Forty-five individuals and corporations contributed to the event. Major sponsors included: Johnson Controls, Inc.; METZ and Associates; Parker Hannifin Corporation and Todd and Associates. Next tier sponsors included: Bashein & Bashein Co., LPA; The Albert M. Higley Company; Painesville Commercial Properties, Inc. and Western Reserve Harley Davidson.
 
Founded in 1856, Lake Erie College is a dynamic and progressive institution of higher education offering 22 undergraduate majors and master’s degrees in business administration and education. This coeducational college, grounded in the liberal arts, enrolls just over 1,000 students of all ages and is nationally recognized for its equine studies programs and international learning opportunities for students.
