Cheerleading and “Stormy,” the Mascot, tryouts to take place
Lake Erie College will be holding a 2010-2011 cheerleading tryout on Sunday, April 25 in the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center. Dance instruction will be from noon to 1 p.m. followed by the tryouts at 1:15 p.m.
Those who wish to tryout for Lake Erie College’s cheerleading squad must be current students at the College who are in good academic standing or new students admitted by April 24, 2010 for the Fall semester.
In addition, the College will have a “Stormy,” the mascot, tryout on Saturday, April 24 at 11 a.m. in the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center. Requirements are current students in good academic standing who are returning for the 2010-2011 academic year or new students admitted by April 24, 2010 for the Fall semester.
The mascot must attend all home football and basketball games as well as periodic cheerleading practice to learn crowd cheers and represent the “Storm” in a positive manner. Those interested must come to the tryout prepared to wear the “Stormy” costume and perform a short routine to showcase their skills. They must also bring their own music.
The student chosen to represent “Stormy” will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
