Spanish Studies program hosts Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Lake Erie College and the Department of Spanish Studies cordially invite the surrounding community to attend the College’s first Hispanic Heritage Celebration. The event will be held Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, from 6-8 p.m at the C.K. Rickel Theater located in the Lake Erie College Fine Arts Building. The event will also be simulcast on WHWN, 88.3 FM, “La Nueva Mia (My New One)” radio.
Nelson Cintrón, owner of WHWN, 88.3 FM, “La Nueva Mia (My New One)” radio and El Informativo monthly newspaper, will share his experiences and opinions about the growing influence of the Hispanic community in Northeast, Ohio. Following his presentation, time will be devoted to exchanging opinions, ideas and comments related to his keynote speech. Light refreshments will be provided.
This event is free and open to the public to celebrate and honor the Hispanic community in the area on "Dia de la Herencia Hispana" (Day of Hispanic Heritage). For more information or to RSVP for the event, contact 440.525.4910.
