Extreme Entrepreneurs visit Lake Erie College
Students turn to entrepreneurship to create lives of passion, purpose and prosperity
The spirit of American entrepreneurism is alive and well, and poised to take Painesville’s youth by storm on Sept. 24, 2008. On that date, The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour – the first ever collegiate entrepreneur tour – will be visiting Lake Erie College’s campus.
Lake Erie College is committed to helping both its students and members of the community succeed in the changing economy, and both are invited to take part in the day’s events, which begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m. in the C.K. Rickel Theater located in the Fine Arts Building.
Jason Duff and Morgan First will kick off the program with keynote addresses. Duff graduated in 2005 from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, and is the 2005 winner of the Global Student Entrepreneurship Social Impact Award. His entrepreneurial career started at age 10, stocking vending machines while balancing t-ball, piano lessons and the occasional game of Nintendo. At age 18, Duff earned the title of Ohio’s youngest Realtor®, providing him the opportunity to invest in property and learn the trade.
First is the creative guru and co-founder behind 1st Publications and MAP BOSTON. With the MAP Boston Planner, one can keep track of their schedule right next to cool ideas of places to visit in Boston each week. All of the locations have been picked because they are local hangouts or off the beaten path. First, along with her 15-person staff, has been featured in the Boston Herald, RedefiningBoston.com, Skirt Magazine, WBZ News Radio, Back Bay Sun, among other publication.
Workshops will follow the keynote speakers from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Thereafter, a speed networking session and panel discussion will take place from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. before a break for lunch. The programming will conclude with a panel presentation from 1:45 p.m.-2:45 p.m. and will resume again at 1:45 p.m.-2:45 p.m.
The panel will include Duff, First, Michael Simmons, Arel Moodie and Elizabeth Grace Saunders. Simmons is the co-founder of Extreme Entrepreneurship Education and bestselling author of “The Student Success Manifesto: How to Create a Life of Passion, Purpose and Prosperity.” A 2005 graduate of the Stern School of Business at New York University (NYU), Simmons’ co-founded his first business, Princeton WebSolutions (PWS), when he was 16-years-old.
