Lake Erie College Prix de Villes of North America to celebrate 40th anniversary
The Lake Erie College equestrian program has much to celebrate this spring – the center will host the 40th annual Prix De Villes of North America which will include a groundbreaking ceremony for the new learning facility.
This event begins and ends with two exciting international equestrian competitions that showcase the disciplines of show jumping and dressage. The Jumper Prix De Villes, to be held April 4-6, attracts top local and out-of state-competitors who will vie for the top prize in individual and team show jumping events. This year’s Jumper Prix De Villes will feature the area debut of a high-performance hunter derby, sponsored by Corrigan Trailer Sales.
The Dressage Prix De Villes, slated for April 18-20, features the grace and athleticism of individual and team dressage competitors. A dressage freestyle, sponsored by Western Reserve Farm Cooperative, has been added to this year’s line-up.
In addition to celebrating the Pre de Villes 40th anniversary, the Lake Erie College equestrian program will be celebrating 50 years at Morley Farm. To commemorate these achievements, the College will be honoring legendary local horse people who have been instrumental in the ongoing success of the Prix De Villes.
As part of a new tradition, Lake Erie College designates an equine-based beneficiary to receive a portion of the funds raised from the Prix De Villes. This year, Fieldstone Farms Therapeutic Riding Center will be the beneficiary.
All events are free and open to the public and take place at the George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center located at 8031 Morley Rd. in Concord Twp. For more information, contact the Lake Erie College Equestrian Center at 440.375.8000 or email@example.com.
