Students to compete in 3rd annual LEC Idol Contest

Lake Erie College students won't have to travel to Hollywood to become an idol – they'll have the chance to win that title right on campus. The College will be hosting its 3rd annual LEC Idol Contest featuring live performances from various student singers on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. in the C.K. Rickel Theatre of the Fine Arts Building.
All contestants will perform live while a panel of judges will narrow the nine contestants down to three. The judges of the contest will be Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre Terence Cranendonk, Paul Gothard, professor of music, and Voice Instructor Jean Priddy. The winner will be chosen that evening by an audience vote and will be awarded $100 and a trophy.
The event is sponsored by Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society. Admission to the event is $3 for all Lake Erie faculty, staff and students. General admission will be $6. Patrons can receive $1 off of their ticket price by bringing a non-perishable food item to the box office.
