Tradition of Holiday Vespers continues at Lake Erie College

Families looking for a place to enjoy some holiday cheer can visit the Lake Erie College campus on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 4:30 p.m. for the annual Holiday Vespers program. The program will be presented by the Lake Erie College Department of Music and will be held in Morley Music Hall.

The Vespers program features Lake Erie student and faculty performers, along with presentations by various musical ensembles. The program showcases traditional holiday music by the Lake Erie College Community Chorus, directed by Paul Gothard; the Lake Erie College Flute Choir, directed by Judith Elias and college organist, Mark Bell, Ph.D. Soloists include flautist, Judith Elias; mezzo-soprano, Jean Priddy; student pianist, Marie Giosi and student conductor, Joseph Grasso. A holiday sing-along is also included in the program.

Holiday Vespers is one of the oldest traditions of the College, dating back to the early 1900s. The pageantry of Vespers is still presented in its original format and spirit dating back to the programs that used to occur every Sunday on campus.

The Holiday Vespers program is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. Reservations are not needed. For more information, contact Paul Gothard at 440.375.7030.
