The Lake Erie College Theatre Department will present “Three Musketeers” Oct. 4-6 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the C.K. Rickel Theatre located in the Fine Arts Building.
In James Barry’s production of the “Three Musketeers,” Cardinal Richelieu tries to usurp the throne of France by stealing the crown jewels. In desperation, the Queen commissions the Three Musketeers (Athos, Porthos and Aramis) to protect the jewels. Deception, mayhem, sword fights and hilarity ensue.
The play will feature visual jokes, physical comedy, theatrical jokes and wordplay as the Three Musketeers blunder their way through danger, duels and knee slapping mayhem.
Lake Erie student Julie Harter, a senior theatre design and technology major, will direct the play. Harter is from Madison, Ohio, and has been involved in productions since her arrival in the fall of 2006, working backstage for “Pizza Man,” sound for “Trafford Tanzi” and stage manager for “Marcus is Walking.”
The cast includes Lake Erie students Maggie Leach, a senior who will play the part of Athos, the Queen and Milady; Tricia Lilliman, a senior theatre major, as Porthos, Cardinal Richelieu, Landlord and Italian Dandy and Stephen Marra ’07, as Aramis and Brie.
General admission is $8 and admission is free for Lake Erie students, faculty and staff. Audience members who come dressed in medieval garb can save $2 off the admission price. For ticket reservations or more information, call 440.375.7450.
