Center for Entrepreneurship Students Complete Immersion WeekFive Lake Erie College undergraduates recently completed Entrepreneurship Immersion Week at Hiram College together with five-member teams from eight other colleges and universities in northeast Ohio.
Nickolas Garcia, Alexis Mayer, Kelsey McCormick, John Melendez and Stefan Stojanovic worked as a team to come up with an innovative product or service idea, validate its value by talking to potential users, develop a prototype and present their findings to a panel of business professionals. The team focused on a consumer product which offers both convenience and safety to automobile drivers. They believe that their idea represents intellectual property which they could commercialize but are cautious about disclosing too many details about it.
The week contained presentations by many speakers about their personal experiences in creating, growing and managing businesses. There were opportunities for team building and networking with students and faculty from the other schools.
Immersion Week is the kick-off to a year of activities about creative thinking and action sponsored by the College's Center for Entrepreneurship.
