New Student Orientation Tuesday, June 11Lake Erie College will hold a new student orientation day on Tuesday, June 11 on the main campus. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Arthur S. Holden Center, and the program will conclude approximately 4:30 p.m.
The College's orientation program is designed to assist incoming freshmen and their parents with the transition from high school to college life. During the orientation experience, new students will become familiar with campus life, program requirements and available services. They will meet current LEC students and other incoming students and get a sense of where they fit within the College community. Students and parents are also introduced to the rich history and traditions of the College.
"We host six day-long summer sessions and an extended orientation program a few days before classes begin in August. Current students are selected to serve as orientation leaders to alleviate some of the common fears and anxieties associated with the transition to college. Orientation planning is a collaborative effort among Student Life, Admissions, Registrar and Academic Advising," said Dean of Students Billie Dunn.
