Visual Arts Department to Participate in Winter Lights Lantern Festival(Painesville, Ohio) – Lake Erie College visual arts students, faculty and alumni will lead a lantern procession at the Winter Lights Lantern Festival/Holiday CircleFest 2012 at the Cleveland Museum of Art on Sunday, December 2 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. The lantern procession will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the museum’s north entrance.
Each year the Winter Lights Lantern Festival features lantern displays throughout the museum and the Environment of Lights installation on Wade Oval. Displays are created by Northeast Ohio artists under the direction of community arts artistic director Robin VanLear.
"We are excited that we have been selected as guest artists for such a well-known ceremonial lighting display. We are looking forward to sharing our talent and knowledge with the community during this holiday season,” said Associate Professor of Visual Arts Nancy Prudic.
Professor Prudic along with Cheryl Andrews, Alexander DelaMotte, Dina Derby, Christina Greenslade, Steven Gutierrez, Jodi Jindra, Stefan Stojanovich and Valerie Urbanik will have their lanterns displayed at the classroom level in the art museum. The lanterns will be on display beginning Friday, November 30 at 5:00 p.m. and will be remain until December 26.
On December 7, the students will be available for a meet-n-greet from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the lower level exhibition space in the Cleveland Museum of Art.
