Lake Erie College to Host an Afternoon of Holiday Cheer

(Painesville, Ohio) – Join us for an "Afternoon of Holiday Cheer” filled with concerts, a silent auction and the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 2 on the Lake Erie College campus.

The afternoon will begin with Lake Erie College’s Glee Club concert at 2:00 p.m. in the Morley Music Building, led by Bryan Hrehocik. A holiday tree silent auction will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Arthur S. Holden Center stage area. Holiday mock cocktails and cookies will be served until 4:00 p.m.

The music department will host a concert beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Morley Music Building. Lake Erie College students Patrick Shelby, Kenan Irish and Jordyn Parrigan will perform on piano and Jamie Castle, Melissa Snyder and PSEO student Janay Beamer on flute. Voice students Jamie Castle, Rebecca Hinckley and Connor McCarthy will present local selections.

In addition, Associate Professor of German and French Dr. Mark Bell will perform on the Skinner organ and voice professor Jean Priddy will collaborate with pianist Francesco Binda. Binda will also join forces with Mary Ann Ratchko-Gamez, who will be performing on the Tin Whistle, a traditional Celtic instrument. The College Flute Choir will provide holiday selections under the direction of Judith Elias with pianist Roberta Whitely, interim instructor of piano.

The afternoon will conclude with the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5:00 p.m. at the Dana and Sharon Dennis fountain followed by a formal holiday student dinner in the Arthur S. Holden Center at 5:30 p.m. RSVP to dremington@lec.edu. Afternoon events are free and open to the community.
