Learning Communities to Host Premiere of Documentary “Speak”(Painesville, Ohio) – The Lake Erie College Learning Communities will host the premiere of the documentary film "Speak” by filmmaker Brian Weidling on Thursday, November 15 and Friday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dickinson Lecture Hall in Austin Hall of Science.
The documentary "Speak” follows five individuals as they overcome life’s hurdles while participating in the largest speech contest in the world, the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking. Funny, inspiring and moving, "Speak” tells a story about hope, perseverance, faith and transformation. The screening is part of the "Speak” Grassroots Screening Campaign which is taking the film across the U.S., Canada and beyond to local clubs, universities, faith-based groups and organizations to inspire people to live their lives to the fullest.
Filmmaker Brian Weidling attended Emerson College in Boston where he studied television and film production. He briefly attended the Peter Stark Producing Program at the University of Southern California before beginning his professional career producing and directing "The Goal – Claudio Reyna,” narrated by Robert Duvall. The film followed Reyna, captain of the U.S. men’s soccer team, on their quest to the World Cup in 2002.
Since Tumbleweed Entertainment’s founding in 2006, Weidling has produced and directed over 400 animated films for advertising clients and co-created, produced and directed a series for Discovery Channel titled GoGreen. He also produced and directed the successful musical fundraising project "A Symphony of Hope.”
