Congratulations to the Lake Erie College IDA Team
Congratulations to the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) team for their successful rides at the National Championship, which was held on April 28 and 29 at Centenary College in New Jersey.Riders Meghan Marcinkewicz, Rebecca Dudenhoeffer, Courtney Griffiths and Anya Hurley traveled to Long Valley, N.J. along with coach Kelly Theisen and captured the 6th place title out of 12 teams.
Their journey had an interesting start, as Theisen and Hurley were forced to sprint through Cleveland Hopkins Int'l Airport to catch their flight after discovering that the airport security staff considers a dressage whip to be a weapon.
Once at the competition, intro rider Courtney Griffith placed 12th, first level rider Anya Hurley placed 8th, lower training rider Rebecca Dudenhoeffer placed 7th and upper training rider Megan Marcinkewicz placed 1st in their respective events, helping the team to finish 6th in the nation.
Congratulations to the IDA team!
