Lake Erie College Presents Toni Bush-Neal, Certified Project Management Professional(Painesville, Ohio) – In an effort to create awareness of managing change in today’s society, Lake Erie College will present "Change Management: Project Management as an Agent for Change” by Toni Bush-Neal, an innovative leader and certified project management professional with over ten years experience in planning, executing and implementing large-scale projects in the public and private sectors. The lecture, offered free and open to the community, will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at noon in the Dickinson Lecture Hall in the Austin Hall of Science.
Ms. Bush-Neal is a project management leader in Washington, D.C., where she is responsible for instilling a project management culture throughout an agency while leading strategic and enterprise-wide initiatives that impact over four million clients. She has developed and implemented a series of training programs and workshops and trained the agency on the newly developed project management governance, tools, techniques and methodologies from intake to postmortem.
Prior to joining the public sector, Ms. Bush-Neal was a senior project manager at Wilmington Trust in Wilmington, Del., one of the largest bank-holding companies in the eastern United States. In addition to managing projects to launch new products and re-engineer processes, she managed risk and compliance projects in which she ensured adherence to company, legislative and regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 (SOX404). She also developed and implemented mandatory Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) training programs and established processes for screening multiple information technology systems to comply with Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations.
Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Ms. Bush-Neal was a consultant at the nationally known PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in New York. She led electronic discovery and computer forensic projects that assessed the potential risk exposure for Fortune 500 companies and used forensic techniques to uncover documents and email messages that were intentionally hidden, password-protected, deleted or encrypted.
Her career began as a local area network (LAN) administrator for MBNA America Bank, N.A. in Wilmington, Del., managing the LAN for the CEO and his direct reporting senior executives. Ms. Bush-Neal oversaw and assured confidentiality, availability, issue resolution and 24-hour support. Additionally, she researched and planned the LAN’s software and network upgrades to meet changing business requirements.
Ms. Bush-Neal earned a bachelor of science in computer and information sciences from University of Delaware and a master of business administration, entrepreneurial studies and new ventures from Pennsylvania State University. She earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is currently pursuing a Program Management Certification from George Washington University.
Ms. Bush-Neal currently serves on the board of the Wilmington Senior Center and has served as a member of the board of directors for Trustees of Color, Dress for Success Delaware and the Delaware State Board of Architects. Ms. Bush-Neal was a recipient of the 2007 Black Achievers in Business and Industry Award and the 2006 YWCA Power, Style and Brilliance Award.
