Library Accounts
Library accounts are automatically set up for current Lake Erie College students, faculty, and staff at the beginning of each semester. Qualified patrons may check out library materials by providing their names and presenting ID at the Circulation Desk.
Checking out Materials
  • Books (and nonprint items from the Educational Media Center) are checked out for 21 days and may be renewed 6 times (note: Faculty may check out items for 42 days with 6 renewals)
  • DVDs and CD recordings are checked out for 7 days and may be renewed 3 times

  • Course Reserve Items are checked out for library use only and must be returned the same day
Renewing Materials

Checked-out items may be easily renewed online using your My Library account.  This is accessed from the library catalog's webpage: select the My Library link and log on with your name and LEC ID number. The items you currently have checked out will be listed and you can click a box to renew them.
Returning Loaned Items

Please return materials to the Library's Circulation Desk. A book drop is available outside the library's front entrance for returning items when the library is closed.
Responsibility for Borrowed Items

Once a patron borrows an item from the Library, that patron continues to be responsible for that item until it is processed back into the collection by Library staff. The Library does not acknowledge the transfer of an item from one patron to another.
