Globalization and the internationalization of business is a powerful force in today’s world. In a competitive marketplace, graduates who combine strong business acumen with intercultural competency and communication proficiency in more than one language are in great demand. The major in international business combines a strong set of foundation courses in global business with a focused concentration in a specific language, culture and professional environment. Students can choose from a variety of language and culture concentrations, including French, German, Italian and Spanish. Optional internships enable students to integrate and apply their learning while opening the door to potential career opportunities. The international business resource major also offers excellent preparation for further study at the graduate or professional school level. Students majoring in international business are prepared for a variety of exciting business career paths in areas such as the import and export trade, market analysis, global strategic management, international finance and consulting as well as internationally-focused roles with governmental agencies and charitable and non-profit organizations. |
