FINANCIAL AID FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

International students are considered for all of our academic and merit scholarships, as well as for certain athletic scholarships. We also offer a limited need-based financial assistance program to international applicants. International students are not eligible for any United States federal financial aid, or any grants or scholarships from the state of Ohio. All grants and scholarships are institutional and coming directly from Lake Erie College.

In order to apply for any merit or need-based financial aid, just follow the instructions above. Please keep in mind that we WILL NOT be able to review an application that does not include all necessary financial aid documents, and also shows proof of sufficient funding for the student to be able to attend Lake Erie College.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT BUDGET:

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition and General Fees: $27,368
  • Room and Board: $8,586

NOTE: Room charges are based on double-occupancy, and board charges are based on 19 meals/week.

Personal Budget:

Students are responsible for all travel costs, books, supplies, and personal expenses, as well as the costs associated with an international health insurance. At Lake Erie College, students spend an average of $1,000/year on books and supplies, $1,000/year on personal expenses, and $1,000/year on travel and insurance. An estimated personal budget for international students is $3,000/year.

Due to federal visa regulations, we are also required to have proof that a student has sufficient financial resources to cover his or her personal budget for the year. This means that we need to see proof of financial support for additional $3,000 on top of the direct costs. NOTE: The personal budget amount is NOT payable to the College; however, when a student is applying for financial aid they need to show that amount before the College is able to issue the I-20 form.

Health Insurance:

All international students are required to show proof of health insurance before they can move in campus housing.
