Assessment Plan & Guide

The following information will guide Academic Affairs, particularly all academic programs, to create a meaningful process for evaluating the quality of our offerings individually, and as a complete educational experience for our students. We want to demonstrate to ourselves, our students, and all stakeholders, the quality of the education here at Lake Erie College. Our ultimate goal is to have a regular procedure to assess student learning and the viability of programs on their long-term contribution to College life. Both these aspects of assessment require the identification of student learning outcomes at the course level, and the clear definition of how these learning outcomes support well-developed academic programs.

Timeline

2010-2011: The project throughout Academic Affairs will be to review existing maps or creat a map for the curricula and create an assessment plan for each of our majors and degree programs. Mapping a curriculum means to identify the student learning outcomes for each program and the specific courses in which these learning outcomes are introduced, reinforced, and assessed.

2011-2012: Implemented the assessment plans by school.
